Why should America win the war?
America should win the war because the Americans knew what they were fighting for. They were fighting for their very right to exist. Furthermore, american warfare tactics gave them the upper hand against the British, who only fought when ordered. Also, the colonies were a very large land mass when viewed from a third person perspective. In order to lose the war, they would have to lose every single acre of land that they owned. America also had a sense of patriotism and determination not to lose the war, giving them the motive they needed to endure throughout the war
Why should England win the war?
England has the troops, commerce, and the favor of some colonists on their side. They have the strongest army at that time, as well as the strongest navy, having beaten Spain's navy. They could afford highly trained troops and equipment, as well as hire other mercenaries to fight alongside them. They did not have to worry about rations or troops, and they could buy from the colonists themselves whose kind were known as the profiteers. Lastly, they had a number of loyalists in the colonies. Loyalists were people that were determined to stay loyal to their home country, hence the name, loyalists.
